Out of the Wilderness

We are in a season in which heaven is invading the earth realm in immeasurable ways. To those who are spiritually attuned, our five senses are being heightened to a new level of intensity by the Spirit of God, that we may experience Him with our whole being. As we yield ourselves to our beloved bridegroom, He encompasses us with His love, shutting out all earthly influences; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. These are the very temptations that the serpent used to seduce Adam and Eve in the garden, resulting in expulsion from the place of perfect communion with God and the privilege of partaking of the tree of life. Because they succumbed to another voice, there senses, which at one time were exercised in the realm of perfection and only exposed to the knowledge of good, became open to desires and appetites of the physical body and mind. Having now subjected themselves to the knowledge of evil also, Adam and Eve afflicted themselves with the burden of choice without the power of spiritual discernment.
This painting is a visual depiction of redemption and restoration. Jesus is pictured here bringing His bride out of a very dry and barren wilderness place. This dry cracked desert floor is littered with debris symbolizing desolation, brokenness, death, destruction, chaos, emptiness, lack, poverty, sickness and disease, hunger, thirst, and everything that describes a life of devastation in need of the saving grace of God.
Song of Solomon 8: 5 Who is this coming out of the wilderness leaning on her beloved? Jesus is lovingly supporting His bride as she leans upon Him for strength to cross over the river of life and into the land of promise. He covers her nakedness with His garment of righteousness, mantling her for the arduous journey.
The river is the Spirit of God being poured out and bringing life to all flesh. At the top of the painting, the water that flows from heaven is the source of this river of life. Along with the fire of Pentecost, the living water is caught by winds generated by the wing of a great eagle (a type of the prophetic). These are winds of change bringing times of refreshing as the Church experiences the presence of the Lord, and the power of His Spirit and His Word to deliver us through a difficult season.
Pentecost is represented in the center of the painting both by those who gathered in the upper room as described in Acts 2, and the Holy Spirit baptized people of today. This component of the painting portrays spiritual unity of all nations, kindred and tongues and all of the generations for all times; all baptized into one Body of Christ.
The water and fire form a womb (one of the meanings of the symbol that forms the year 5769 in the Hebraic calendar – the year samekh tet). We the Church, born at Pentecost, are having formed within us greater revelation of Jesus, our Messiah, resulting in a new dimension of truth being poured out through our spiritual womb like rivers of living water. The power and intensity of our witness and testimony are increased because of the awesome knowledge and fear of Him that has been unveiled in this season of humility and vulnerability. Jesus is wooing us into a deeper intimacy which is opening us up to receive greater favor and to experience his grace in a new way. Our witness and testimony are in agreement with the three who witness and agree in heaven, the Father, the Word, and Holy Spirit. (Read 1 John 5:4-8) Christ who was conceived supernaturally came into the world by means of a natural birth, by water and blood. In these passages we understand that He came by the water of His baptism and the blood of His death, and that Holy Spirit bears witness, because He is truth. The three witnesses in heaven, the Father, the Word and Holy Spirit are one – in total agreement and unity. The three elements on earth work in us - the spirit, the water and the blood. Revelation 12: 11 and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony and they did not love their lives to the death.Niv
These three elements in Revelation 12 are the same as those in 1 John. The blood that remits our sins, represents Jesus’ death for our salvation, the Spirit is the true witness of Him in the earth, or the word of His testimony, and the water is our baptism. When we are buried with Him through baptism into death, our old man is crucified with Him, so that we are resurrected with Him in newness of life. We love not our lives unto death; even physical death if it were to come to that. Our lives are hidden with Christ in God.
In this interesting time of leaning on the Lord’s strength to bring us up, out of the wilderness, we are submitting to His hand as He removes the wilderness from us. We have been scorched by the past season, but God is birthing something new. After the pangs of birth comes the reward, and as every mother knows, it is worth the pain of travail.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But, on the contrary, as the scripture says, what eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that,] God has prepared - made and keeps ready – for those who love Him [that is, for those who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed] [Isa. 64:4; 65:17]Amp
The new wineskin at the top of the painting declares that this is a year that our whole being is in preparation to receive new revelation for a new day. Don’t allow the past season to leave you dry, cracked, and rigid, but let the oil of Holy Spirit pour over you and Father’s hand rub and reshape you into a soft pliable vessel, made after the likeness of Jesus, to hold the new. It is time to taste and see that the Lord is good. In wine tasting you experience the wine with all five senses, all of which are depicted in this painting.

The kiss of the bridegroom: Song of Solomon 1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth![she cries. Then realizing that Solomon has arrived and has heard her speech, turning to him she adds] for your love is better than wine! Amp

The seven species of Israel: Deuteronomy 8:7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills: 8 a land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, 9 a land in which you shall eat food without shortage, and lack nothing in it, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. 10 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for all the good land which he has given you. The seven species are displayed at the foot of the tree of life. These fruits symbolize God’s faithfulness to provide for a people who wholly trust in Him for good weather conditions through the growing season and prosperity in the times of harvest, and who will not be drawn away into idolatry. It is our season to taste the fruit of our labors having completely depended upon the Lord to watch over our harvest.

The wine bottle, glass and wineskin: The wine represents the tasting of the Lord and the joy that is experienced in His presences. New wine is revelation (the brand on the label of the wine bottle). In the restoration of the grain, the oil, and the new wine, the wine symbolizes the spirit of man totally transformed and in perfect unity with the Spirit of God.

The lily of the valley: This symbol denotes humility; the beauty and the fragrance of our Lord that flourishes in deep and difficult places.

The golden alter of incense and the gold sensor: Revelation 8:3 And another angel came and stood over the alter. He had a golden sensor and he was given very much incense [fragrant spices and gums which exhale perfume when burned], that he might mingle it with the prayers of all the people of God (the saints) upon the alter of gold before the throne. [Psalm 141:2] 4 and the smoke of the incense (the perfume) arose in the presence of God with the prayers of the people of God (the saints) from the hand of the angel. 5 So the angel took the censor and filled it with fire from the alter and cast it upon the earth. Then there followed thunder peals and loud rumblings and blast and noises, and lighting flashes and an earthquake. [Lev. 16:12, Ezek. 10:2]
We shake heaven with our worship and intercession resulting in God shaking the earth.

The broken alabaster box: The offering of the essence of who we are in our worship unto the Lord, as we humble ourselves and submit to the breaking of our flesh.

The seven bells of heaven: The seven bells of heaven are ringing, announcing change and bringing earth to attention to hear what the Lord is saying in this season. The sound of shaking in the heavens echoes in the earth, bringing the message of the kingdom through His prophetic voices, and the provision to sustain us during this time of shaking on the earth.
At another level, the bells announce preparation for the wedding.
Two silver trumpets: Numbers 10:1 And the Lord said to Moses, 2 Make two trumpets of silver; of hammered or turned work you shall make them, that you may use them to call the congregation, and for breaking camp. 3 When they both are blown, all the congregation shall assemble before you at the door of the tent of meeting. 4 and if one blast on a single trumpet is blown, then the princes or leaders, heads of the tribes of Israel, shall gather themselves to you. 5 When you blow an alarm, the camps on the east side [of the tabernacle] shall set out. 6 When you blow an alarm a second time, then the camps on the south side shall set out. An alarm shall be blown whenever they are to set out on their journeys. 7 When the congregation is to be assembled, you shall blow [the trumpets in short, sharp tones], but not blast an alarm. 8 And the sons of Aaron, the priest, shall blow the trumpets, and the trumpets shall be to you for a perpetual statute throughout your generations. 9 When you go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresses you, then blow an alarm with the trumpets that you may be remembered before the Lord your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies. 10 Also in the day of rejoicing, and in your set feast and at the beginnings of months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and your peace offerings; thus they may be a remembrance before your God; I am the Lord your God.Amp

Pentecost: The sound of a rushing mighty wind carrying the power and the glory of God throughout the earth. The cloven tongues of fire are the agreement of the language of the spirit and the tongue of man bearing witness to the complete work of Christ which is the message of the Kingdom. It is time for a resurgence of praying in the Spirit for a new level of power and glory to be released.

The sound of many waters: Revelation 14:1 Then I looked and lo, the Lamb stood on Mount Zion, and with Him a 144, 000 [men] who had His name and His Father’s name inscribed on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the sound of great waters and like the rumbling of mighty thunder; the voice I heard [seemed like music] of harpists accompanying themselves on their harps. 3 And they sing a new song before the throne [of God] and before the four living creatures and before the elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin]. No one could learn [to sing] that song except the 144, 000 who had been ransomed [purchased, redeemed] from the earth.
The voices from heaven and the redeemed of the earth together are singing a new song before the throne of God.

The blowing of the Shofar: The blowing of the Shofar represents the breath of God bringing revival. He is breathing life into the dry bones through His prophetic voice. His body is assembling – a great host, Jew and Gentile unified and ready to reclaim their land of promise.


The clock: The hands of the clock read 9:00 o’clock (the third hour) when the 120 were seen by all of Jerusalem as a witness to God’s awesome power, and the world was changed forever. We are about to see a new dimension of that power released for change.

The Lamb: The Lamb is bound to the cross by a crown of thorns. Jesus offered Himself as our sacrificial Lamb, binding himself to the cross. See this type in Genesis 22:13.

The door standing open in heaven: The Angel of the Lord is beckoning us to come up to experience new realms in the spirit, and to be that connection to the earth realm.

The grace and beauty of the dancers: These represent a new level of grace being released for this difficult season. His grace is always sufficient.

The two sticks becoming one: (Read Ezek. 37: 16 – 28)These two sticks represent Judah and Ephraim, Jew and Gentile, becoming one new man.

The pendulum swinging left: God is still in control and will keep our inner workings in balance and keep us in His timing. The Issachar anointing will be key in this next season. We must know the times and seasons and what Israel ought to do.

The water flowing from the throne room: The water being caught by the eagle’s wing is creating a wave to refresh the bride while propelling her to cross over.

The hand of Jesus: Covered in His blood, with the anointing oil, and the leaves from the tree of life that are for the healing of the nations, the Church is the healing hand of Christ in the earth realm today.


The contrast of touch: The loving support and the covering of the Lord’s mercy in a time of the Church’s weakness and vulnerability, is starkly contrasted by the mature bride without spot or wrinkle, being intimately embraced and kissed by her Redeemer; her Bridegroom.

All of our spiritual senses are being restored in this season.
1 John 1: 1 [We are writing] about the Word of Life [in] Him who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard, whom we have seen with our [own] eyes, whom we have gazed upon [for ourselves] and have touched with our [own] hands. 2 And the life [and aspect of His being] was revealed (made manifest, demonstrated), and we saw (as I witnessed) and are testifying to and declare to you the Life, the eternal Life [in Him] who already existed with the Father and Who [actually] was made visible – was revealed- to us [His followers]. 3 What we have seen and [ourselves] heard we are also telling you, so that you to may realize and enjoy fellowship as partners and partakers with us. And [this] fellowship that we have (which is a distinguishing mark of Christians) is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
This is an important year to discern both good and evil. One of the symbols of this year is a coiled serpent ready to strike. It reminds me of Revelation 12 when the dragon stationed himself before the woman who was about give birth so that he might devour her child at delivery. This is a time to be watchful and to pray. Our senses need to be exercised to discern between good and evil. Spiritual discernment is for the mature, those who are trained in the word, trained by practice or experience to know what the Lord distinguishes to be good or evil, and to know the divine and will and purpose, thought and action of God. Hebrews 5: 13 For everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviously inexperienced
and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness, [that is, of conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought and action,] for he is a mere infant – not able to talk yet! 14 But solid food is for full-grown men for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law.
Adam and Eve were deceived by the subtlety of the serpent. At this time of crossing over into our inheritance we must experience the Lord in a way that all of our spiritual senses are awakened and saturated with His goodness. When we fully experience the real, the counterfeit will be easy to detect and by the Spirit of God we are totally equipped
to take back that which was lost.
My prayer is that through this prophetic painting the Word of the Lord will be released and imparted to everyone who views it and that it would change the atmosphere of the regions that it is destined for. Taste and see, fully experience, the presence of the Lord and He will sustain you as you come up out of your wilderness!
